1.) Preparing For The Best Photos
You’ve selected your choice for your wedding photography and/or videography and it is definitely within our expertise to make sure every moment of the day is captured. That being said, it is a great idea to put together a shot list for us so that we can make sure that all the essentials are checked off. From the little details, to the venue setup, to couple portraits — these are all examples of photos that will tell the story of your day from start to finish. 2. Have Some Details Ready
The rings, bouquets, wedding invitations, jewelry, boutonnieres, shoes, and cufflinks are all gorgeous details that shouldn’t be forgotten! It’s helpful for us to rely on a wedding party member or other helper to organize these items, so make sure to keep them close!
3. Consider A First Look
We absolutely love this modern twist on the traditional wedding that gives you and your fiancé the opportunity to see each other for the first time in a more private setting. The first look is a photographer’s dream because it allows extra time for couple of portraits while you are fresh and looking your best, which may otherwise be pushed off to later in the day or evening. You can also take this time as an opportunity to say a few quiet vows to each other, if you prefer to do so in a more intimate way.
4. Embrace The Unexpected
It’s understood that a massive amount of planning has gone into your wedding, and it is one of the most important moments of your life. That being said, please enjoy it and embrace the unexpected! The day will go by in a whirlwind and, even though we will capture all the monumental moments, our biggest wish for you is that you live each of these moments as fully as possible. Your enjoyment will make for the best photos and memories to keep forever!
5. Trust Our Creativity
One of my favorite photos of all time was taken as I stood directly in front of my couple who were posing in the pitch black of a balcony at night just slightly above me, embrace a beautiful kiss. To get this shot, the two of them had to trust that my creative vision (and that standing in pitch black for a moment) would result in an awesome photo. If we find a creative or “out of the box” vision, trust us to deliver! It could result in one of your favorite wedding photos of all time.
6. Include Toss Items
Whether it’s in your group photos, during your first dance or your grand exit, toss items add that extra touch to your photos. Confetti, flower petals, paper planes, rice, the list can go on and on! These pictures radiate bliss, excitement and results in genuine smiles and laughter from you and your guests.
7. Consider A Private Dance
The beauty of twinkling stars and dark skies makes for a great photo backdrop. If your coverage includes night shots, sneaking away for a private dance lasts no more than 20-30 minutes and is typically scheduled during your reception and after dinner. Another suggestion would be to get these shots at the very end of the night once all the activities have occurred. The night sky adds a touch of romance and gives us the opportunity to create dramatic images with the help of lighting.
